Two Families Now
One way psychology benefits the population is in taking basic research and translating
it into programs that can benefit people. Working with IRIS Educational Media, with
funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), our faculty member Dr. Laura
Backen Jones created Two Families Now: a group for parents going through separation
and divorce. The program is used nationwide; it’s the only online parent education
and family stabilization course listed on the National Registry of Evidence-based
Programs and Practices (NREPP). .
